Program Encourages Consumers to Have Fun Growing their Own Popcorn at Home

MANKATO, Minn. (April 2, 2014) – In an effort to educate consumers about where their food comes from and how easy it is to grow better-for-you snacks at home, Angie’s Boomchickapop®, makers of one of the nation’s fastest growing brands of natural popcorns, is launching an innovative program this spring targeted at retailers and consumers called Grow Some Boom™.

 

Throughout April, consumers can pick up limited quantities of untreated, non-GMO, popcorn seeds in select stores where they purchase Boomchickapop products. They can also visit www.growsomeboom.com to order seeds online. It’s all in an effort to give consumers the chance to test their green thumbs and grow (and ultimately pop and enjoy) their very own Boomchickapop popcorn at home.

 

“Our team had so much fun designing a program that encourages consumers to share in the fun and positive spirit of growing the world’s most flavorful popcorn, starting from the ground up,” said Angie Bastian, founder of Angie’s Boomchickapop. “We’ve had the great fortune to be part of the growing popcorn category that’s both good for you and fun, and now we’re inviting everyone to experience this adventure right alongside us.”

 

All summer long, Angie’s will also offer online support and tips and tricks for growing popcorn via the website. The goal is to give consumers a chance to get outdoors and grow their own Boomchickapop — a delicious snack they can feel great about. The site will also include ideas for exotic popcorn flavors to try at home.

 

Consumers can visit the Grow Some Boom website and Boomchickapop Facebook page to see stories and garden photos from around the country of people growing popcorn in their own gardens.
